Osteopathy and Sports Injuries
As well as an osteopath I am a qualified core stability instructor. Osteopath will not only treat your injury so you can continue your sport or exercise regimen. I will help you find ways to prevent injury happening again and part of this is rehabilitation.
Rehabilitation is the restoring an individual to a condition of good health ensuring their ability to work, play sport or perform activities of daily living.
One of the most important components of your treatment is a progressive, well planned and executed rehabilitation programme.
The programmes will help you maximising functional restoration to a healthy active life-style. The aim is to enable you to get back to your full potential in the shortest time possible.
My personal experience is of running marathons and now I have the challenge of training to swim the English Channel. This has taught me how important it is to not let an injury interrupt your training. I am currently being trained by Ruth Thompson, a previous Masters Champion and top coach. Her knowledge and experience has shown how changing a small detail in your technique not only makes you more efficient in your sport, but less likely to incur an injury.

"I realised I was no longer an 18 year old after I didn't warm up for a game of tennis and pulled a muscle in my back. This was 3 years ago and my back hasn't been the same since. I lived with the pain for a while thinking it should heal itself but working long hours behind a computer only made things worse and I started feeling pain in more than one area. I had 12 weeks of chiropractic but this only made things worse and I wasn't sure I could endure the recommended total of 48 weeks treatment. I eventually decided to see an osteopath and came to Sue because she had successfully treated my wife for neck pain. After only 3 sessions the pain in my back has gone and I have also noticed that I have better spinal mobility. Without a shadow of doubt I will be returning to Sue if I had any problems in the future and I will also be recommending her to friends and family. "
